Hello once again .


this will be a rare food post !
making it comparably more useful than the usual posts for one .

i'm trying hard to keep up my once a week blogging regime and i hope you'll like what i post . although admittedly it's always the same old stuff really . *guilty* blogging is like an itch i need to scratch ; i can never stay away from writing for too long . writing and drawing for leisure is like breathing cuz they are essential to keep me feeling alive and it's one thing i don't believe i will ever change .

i've been talking about this since forever , but once again , i find it strangely amusing that i have a staple diet and occassionally advocate what i eat to others . Since so far the recommendations have been going quite well , i've decided to list down my top 11 favourite stalls/brands/types of food or beverages that i like .

some facts before you continue further:

- i have a sweet tooth
- i prefer hard rice and pasta compared to soft rice and pasta
- my staple diet mostly consists of rice/pasta and milk tea

#1 yomenya goemon (pasta)

pasta has exactly the kind of texture i like !
it's been sometime since i went but the taste was great as well .
hoping to go there again soon so i've been advocating this quite often lately .


#2 lenas (pasta)
i normally frequent the jurong point outlet , the reviews online are not so favourable .
still , you can try and see for yourself .

same reason why i like this place ; pasta has the kind of texture i like and there are quite a variety of choices to go by . 


#3 mad for garlic (pasta)

just note that #1 to #3 serves more than pasta , but i'm smitten with their pasta so all reviews are on pasta ~

why i like mad for garlic is also because of the pasta texture . not exactly spoilt for choice here though because there isn't much in the menu i am interested in .

but their spicy prawn aglio olio was the best i had so far and merl will second that .
got to wait till suntec city mall has finished their renovations to eat it again though .


#4 sliced fish curry rice
this is only available near my house , so you probably will only gain access rights if you visit .
haha just kidding , it should be available at any zichar stalls you frequent .

most people don't really know of it's existence since zichar stalls are more famous for their hor fun or fried rice , so this is sadly underrated . 

still the one that i bring you to eat will likely taste the best because i scouted :p
(will normally have this at least once a week)


#5 genki sushi

this is probably the only place in the list that has more exposure than the others .
why i like it is because the food is fresh and i really like the salmon series , as well as the tuna salad sushi .


#6 tea12 reach

taking into consideration i always go for the milk tea series , tea 12 reach has great milk tea series range .
i really like their froggy bubbles too (i dislike gong cha's milk tea series the most btw) .


#7 chai tea latte (coffee bean and tea leaf)
chai tea latte is also an underrated drink !

haha actually cuz well , most people that taste it come back to me to tell me its unique .
(up to now i only have one successful chai tea latte convert)
but i really like chai tea and coffee bean has the best hot chai tea latte .

starbuck's iced chai tea latte is good though .
i wouldn't recommend starbuck's hot chai tea latte .


#8 soy green tea latte (starbucks)
for soy green tea latte starbucks wins hands down , hot or iced .

this drink is rather pricy though but very worth it .


#9 himalayan tea latte (mccafe)
this is another tea latte fix i go for , but sadly mccafe has been increasing their prices .
still , it's good to have more options and it is also a calming beverage so i like it !


#10 stroopwafels
stroopwafels are my favourite snack and i normally try to keep a stash of them with me .
we even have a history to go by , so we are definitely bonded .

blogged about this before also but to cut the long story short , i received my first stroopwafels as a gift from my ex-boss who went to holland and brought them back (yes she likes stroopwafels too) .

after i finished them i was obviously rather sad as they didn't seem to be available in singapore .

merl hunted them for me at some strange place though and i was ecstatic then (thank u!)
what happens next is the interesting part cuz they became available at watsons , and now you can find them in fairprice or coldstorage (i think) too .

after which i ambitiously and hardworking-ly tried blogging about packet yam milk tea to make them available in singapore too ; but that failed cuz i still am unable to find packet yam milk teas in singapore .*gloom*

#11 takopachi
(added this in last minute)

takopachi is a stall that sells takoyaki (surprise surprise) .
the only outlet i know of is at takashimaya so do try if you drop by .

i absolutely adore takoyaki and i like my takoyakis to be made with great tasting flour .
however i will either go for ham and cheese or prawn and not the original octopus .
reason being is cuz somehow they always add red garlic to the octopus and i hate that . acks .

(wow tako is my least favourite place to get takoyaki from btw)

ok there we are done .
i would go on to do a pairing review on pairings i like but it's getting late and i need to sleep .

Yours truly is following the usual lazing around eating chocolates and nursing a calming drink sunday routine . for three sundays in a row . in the process of developing a craving for good coffee as well which i'm still deliberating cuz i can sense an impending headache . but since when have i been anything short of suicidal ?

i've got 2 blueprints to paint and 2 pieces to pencil sketch ; i don't have any time aside from my weekends which are largely used to go out . you could say i need more time , as apart from this hobby which may be more of a profession in future , i would like to try out different mediums and also to take up a new hobby that would allow me to work out occasionally .

(ive been considering purchasing a tablet for the new medium and dance for the new hobby)

this post is just to keep you updated and to keep you interested in following this space . sorry but i don't have much feeling to blog a philosophical post lately .

because i thought about it , and the way things are now , i prefer not to think about or involve my feelings .
i'm not going to get anywhere wandering in circles . also , i've never been the sort to let anything get me down ; not for long anyway :)

things that have past should remain in the past and so this is it . i'm happy with my current life and lifestyle so let's stop at that !

so uh . let's go back to posting as per normal aites .

been really busy the last few weeks (still busy now) , till off days are really a breather for me .
can you believe i have not turned on my laptop for more than a week ?
that's how hectic it's been .

got another pair of shoes recently at quite a good price i must say . which i wore out twice so far .
also officially my first pair of creepers :D

this is exactly how it looks like but the details on the front are abit different.

purchased mine from RUSH at JP if you are interested . $30 .

i'm not sure what triggered my current obsession with shoes ,
but one thing's for sure , i definitely love my slippers more .
shoes make my feet all sore and stuff even if they are pretty to ogle at :x

(slippers are pretty to look at too you know . well to me at least)

i'm also always constantly scouting for good places to take photos ,
found some pretty scenic spots , probably if anyone is interested or if opportunity permits , we can shoot there sometimes .

(figuring whether i should invest in a new camera . i really like shooting people and animals , but pretty much gave up on food shots)

my first pair of comparably more pricy footwear ,
say hello !
you probably already know that i don't tend to splurge on footwear ,
but there is always a first for everything .

well ...

actually it's also because i have the gut feeling that we were meant to be .

whatcha think ?

they are my first pair of litas or ankle boots (i give up on correct categorizing) , you get the gist .
i wore them out twice so far , and i'm not regretting anything , in fact i like them even better .
as with anything , there are pros and cons :

for one the shoes are very stable , even more so than my highly coveted wedges .
they complement almost everything in my wardrobe .
the most important factor is that when i wear them , they look good in general .

to elaborate a little on the last point , normally if the shoe's collars are too high they make my legs look fat cuz i have not so long legs . sad thing is i like those kinda shoes as they have this bad ass look y'know ?
so this pair is perfect really . the collar stops exactly where it should ; not too high .

the cons are cons that come with all high heels :

extremely tiring for feet if worn for significant periods of time .
more suited for pants rather than skirts or dresses cuz it causes them to ride up .

verdict is i still love them *content*
anyone interested to get a pair with me ?
 

2nd part of this post is to let you know about my latest addiction .

ok , it may amuse you that i've once again failed to capture food in their pristine stage .
(this time it's worse then a bite , it's an empty cup)
as with all food , my priority when i get my hands on them is to eat them , not to take photos of them .

so when i figure (after tasting) they are worth mentioning and i want a photo for illustration ,
the photo will no longer be whole .

tea 12 reach is at clementi ~ just opposite the mall and 2 (i think) stalls away from gongcha .

they have a lot of special flavours , read , hazelnut green milk tea (as above) , peppermint milk tea etc.
so far i've tried a total of 3 cups and i really liked all which goes to say something .

have to give merl some credit and a shout out for this discovery , cuz we tried our first cups tgt :D

3rd part of this post ; more random trivia on my daily life .

now , if anyone has the slightest interest in writing a biography about me , this blog could really prove quite useful , i practically write everything , but not all in a straightforward-dish way .

lacked sleep the whole of last week (what's new?) and i'm fairly impressed that my last week's entry was updated at close to 1am considering that i had to wake up early the next day .

the culprits as to why i lack sleep last week was work , friends and my trusty wireless .

i am a genuine scorpio in the sense that i really have all the traits of one .
being contradictory and obsessive are some common examples .

which so happens will be my new hair colour if i dye it !
ive decided i wont go for short short hair but probably still gna maintain it at short .

also , as so quoted by my friend , my lifestyle is nomadic (had to look this up , nomadic means migratory btw) because i bring everything to my bed to work on at times . lolol .

well , i want to talk abit about manga/anime for abit .

being my usual lazy self with a short attention span , sometimes i lose motivation to follow up on manga chapters/anime episodes . when such epidemic hits , the reason is likely due to the fact that i didn't like the arc so much . to remedy this , i use the lazy (big surprise) approach- observing tumblr trends for updates of my favorite character(s) before delving into the series again from where i left off .

i haven't been doing naruto or bleach for awhile now .

well i like gaara and jiraiya best from naruto .
however , gaara doesn't seem to have any impressive power ups ,
making him seem weaker as the story goes and jiraiya got killed off :(
i like them badass strong , and alive and kicking in case you didn't know .

so there goes my naruto :x

obviously i like grimmjow jeagerjaques and zaraki kenpachi best from bleach *insert big big heart*
another thing about bleach i like is tite kubo's drawing style :D
cuz you know , artists always need inspiration for new art .
so far , bleach and katekyo hitman reborn (by akira amano) goes on my list of top 3 for character design .

and although not many people can see the beauty in one piece ,
i like the way the character movements are fluid and stances always able to portray the character .
just a word of caution that if you are not used to it , you may find the manga rather messy .

anyhooo .
back to bleach !

haven't been particularly interested since a year (?) or so ago after grimmjow was defeated , currently mia .
bleach has seriously way too many characters :(
however although kenpachi normally has really little screen time ,
the recent arc promises alot (bleach standards) of kenpachi~
so yes i'll be catching up on bleach .

i've completed my new year clothes shopping , getting myself a massive haul .
... fine , it's not so bad , just that by massive i mean more than what i expected .
so ... if i ever try to ask you out for clothes shopping during these 2 months , stop me please .

during this period my dyed hair has faded and grew out making it ombre looking   
and i like it :D
ignore the face pls , just admire the ombre hair lolol .

to be honest i spotted this dress before at blogshops and was naturally tempted .
even better i managed to find it and try it in rl .
2 bad points:
super tight and low cut .

that leaves me with the super tight problem .
gotta lose weight somehow :x
yes , too in love with it i can't help but buy it .
have to conquer and have discipline to lose weight .

Hello ~

initially i wanted to blog about something more deep since my last few posts have been somewhat picture posts and you might be sick of seeing me plastered all over my blog , but i thought about it ; and hey , i give up , i'm just gonna be plastering more . i'm too tired to follow through with a philosophical post as it requires too much thought which i don't really have the mood for .

(and the less you hear of my philosophy the better it is for you i think)

haha ! anyway normally deep posts are triggered by something which i brush aside quite fast .
you can tell i'm not a dangerous person since i am simple . take for example when i get angry , it's a simple kind of anger . i won't spend my time plotting on how to extract revenge or anything as tiresome as that (though i sometimes hold grudges) . i just vent it at that point in time and feel happy or guilty afterwards .

sometimes though , i think i may have anger management issues because i have uncontrollable reactions . such as i can literally feel the blood rushing to my face or rushing through my body , at other times i can't help myself shaking or beginning to tear from anger .
(luckily i don't experience the tearing reaction nowadays)

being naturally apathetic as i am; and even more so lately , i keep brushing my emotions aside ; that's why you don't see any self reflections in italics captioned at the top or bottom of each post like i used to do . at this point in time i don't care if i'm not being healthy , i just feel a little tired .
d'you think i should be bothered by this ?

all the dresses i bought are crazy short D:
but they were too pretty i couldn't resist .

bodycon dress i love !
as much or more than i love bandage skirts .
because it's super easy to wear with any cardigan/sweater/jacket .

after falling in love with turquoise all over , decided that my new year colour it'll be .
went ahead and got myself another one:

erm .
i know there may not be much obvious difference from the first one but here are 5:

-puffed sleeves

i dislike puffed sleeves but since im gna be wearing my trusty sweaters anyway , it's all good .
