Well, tested desktop themes. Kind of a diaster...I deleted the taskbar by accident, and was left taskbarless for quite long.
Till i had the sense to uninstall.
okay, call me slow. Keep me away from experiments next time.
Hmm. about the laptop problem Gene was having, went to svc already, changed hdd, so no issue le.
(okay, issue is that; have to reload sp software all over again.)
Now he got media centre edition os le. Jealous.
However, yesterday i went to this forum to post bout it le.

Troubled them for no reason since its okay le.
Description of prob is that cannot boot up laptop in any mode, no matter which one is chosen, will give bsod..den restart, cycle repeats.
The replies(solutions) are below as follows:

If you cannot even log on to the safe mode then its probably the ntloader on the windows is corrupt, you can try to put in your windows disk and do a repair,
and if that still does not work, just install the whole xp over the current one, make sure you don't use the install fresh update,
(fresh update will wipe the hdd clean and start over) you will loose all your work,
if you do an update it will retain your doc files and your programs. you still will have to reload the programs but the settings and files you have saved will be still intact.

Let me take a closer look on your pc problem
Please download and run the following program
Save it to desktop
Click on scan and save a log file
When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Save the log. Most of what it lists will be harmless or essential, don't fix anything yet.
Please send the log back to me as a text attachment (its called Hijackthis.log - and located on the same place where you run Hijackthis program as above.
you can also copy paste the log in your email from notepad
This will help me to locate malicious programs and other corrupt files on the pc.
